Acosta names a new CEO
Alejandro Rodriguez Bas was named President and CEO of leading sales and marketing firm Acosta, filling a position that had been vacant for six month.
The company said Rodriguez Bas possesses deep experience at both consumer packaged goods companies and retailers and brings a unique blend of strong strategic and operational expertise, having successfully launched new categories, refined go-to-market models, and optimized sales strategies.
Prior to joining Acosta, Rodriguez Bas was a consultant, investor and advisor focused on the food and beverage industry. Prior to that he served for a little more than two years as Executive Vice President of New Business and Market Development for C&S Wholesale Grocers. Prior to C&S, Rodriguez Bas served one year as CEO of Mexico and Central America for Grupo Industrial Lala, Latin America’s largest dairy company. He was also with PepsiCo for nine years, serving as CEO of PepsiCo Australia and New Zealand.
The CEO role had been vacant at Acosta since early 2018 when Steve Matthesen left the company after only 18 months. He had joined the company in September 2016 after previously serving as President of Global Retail at Nielsen. Filling the CEO role on an interim basis was 35 year Acosta veteran and Executive Chairman of the Board Gary Chartrand. He said the hiring of Rodriguez Bas marks an exciting milestone in Acosta’s history.

Rodriguez Bas, a Harvard MBA, characterized Acosta as a forward-thinking company that is taking a lead role in creating innovative technolgoies and solution.
