Ad Age Releases Retail Demographics
Sixty percent of Target shoppers are women, while 56 percent of Walmart shoppers are female, according to data published in Advertising Age. More than half of shoppers at both chains are married. Target's consumer base is slightly younger than Walmart's, with 23 percent of its shoppers falling in the 25 to 34 age range compared with 17 percent at Walmart, where the largest age group is 45 to 54.
