Bed Bath & Beyond Leverages Holidays at Home Trend
Home goods sales continue to surge during the pandemic as Americans look to fix up their houses.

Bed, Bath & Beyond is seizing the opportunity to woo an increasing number of home goods shoppers ahead of the holidays.

The Union, New Jersey-based retailer is unveiling its holiday deals before Halloween, due to the overwhelming number of shoppers staying at home amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of Americans spending most of their time in their houses has been a boon for retailers such as Home Depot, HomeGoods, and Bed Bath & Beyond.

"At a time when our homes are the epicenter of our lives, we want to help our customers celebrate old traditions and create new ones, by making sure there's no place like home this holiday season," said Cindy Davis, chief brand officer of Bed Bath & Beyond, and president of Decorist. "Customers can shop with speed and certainty by using our Buy-Online-Pickup-In-Store, Curbside Pickup or Same Day Delivery services, and we'll provide inspirational ideas and great value throughout the holidays on everything from seasonal décor to home essentials or thoughtful gifts. So, whether you're cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the first time, need a last-minute present for friends or family, or just want to bring a little holiday magic to your home, we'll be here to help make the holidays special."

Now through Oct. 31, customers who join the Beyond+ loyalty program will get a bonus card whose $29 value matches the membership fee. The program gives members a 20% discount whenever they make a purchase, as well as early looks at holiday deals and free standard shipping.

All shoppers who spend $75 from Wednesday through Saturday will get $25 in My Funds Rewards that they can use any time in a 30-day period to purchase linen, kitchen accessories and other products. Shoppers who purchase $200 worth of merchandise online on Oct. 13-14 will earn $50 in My Funds Rewards.

The surge in online shopping as people have stayed home has also prompted Bed Bath & Beyond to highlight its options to buy online and then pick up in store, or the ability to pick up online orders curbside – services it launched for the first time during the pandemic.

The company is also introducing two extended saving programs on top products throughout the season:

  • Gift of the Week: From Oct. 16 to Dec. 23, each week for three days only, Bed Bath & Beyond will provide customers with inspiration and meaningful savings on gifts.
  • Holiday Daily Deals: From Nov. 2 to Dec. 24, customers can shop one item at a low price every day.
  • Black Friday and Cyber Monday: Bed Bath & Beyond will provide seasonal savings with expanded Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers across various days, enabling customers to shop safely via omnichannel services.
