Colgate-Palmolive shakes up C-suite
Colgate-Palmolive is making changes to its executive team as it looks to accelerate e-commerce growth.
The leading consumer products company has promoted Noel R. Wallace to President and Chief Operating Officer, who will be responsible for all the company’s operating units.
P. Justin Skala has been appointed to Executive Vice President, Chief Growth & Strategy Officer, leading all the company’s commercial growth functions, including Global Marketing, Customer Development, Technology and Supply Chain. Both executives will report to Ian Cook, who remains Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
“Colgate is fortunate to have two executives of this caliber to assume the Company’s most senior operating and strategy roles. Their demonstrated global success and long experience make them especially qualified to drive our strategies and results throughout the Colgate world,” said Cook.
The changes within Colgate-Palmolive’s executive offices come shortly after the company reportedly began pursuing a minority investment in the startup Hubble, an online seller of contact lenses by subscription. The Wall Street Journal reported that Colgate and Hubble will jointly develop a subscription service for some Colgate products, beginning with teeth whitening later this year.
Colgate’s efforts to merge with Hubble are indicative of the pressure CPG companies are feeling to innovate digitally as consumers buy more of their products online.
