Consumers Like Eco-Friendly Items, but Most Won't Pay More for Them
While 46 percent of consumers surveyed said they were inclined to purchase eco-friendly items, 59 percent said they wouldn't pay more for them, according to a survey by online coupon site RetailMeNot.com and Ipsos Public Affairs. Further, 71 percent of consumers said they were aware of products' environmental impact, but 43 percent acknowledged they don't consider that impact when they're actually making a purchase.
