Countries’ Reputations Impact Product Pricing: Study
Consumers will pay a premium for products made in countries with favorable reputations, according to a study published in the American Marketing Association's Journal of International Marketing. In one study of Evian bottled water sold in different countries, respondents showed they were willing to pay the equivalent of $1.28 for Evian coming from France, a country with a favorable image, versus $1.04 for the same product from Turkey, which has a lesser image, BloombergBusinessweek reported.
