As fewer and fewer people smoke traditional tobacco products, market leading companies such as Altria are providing consumers new and non-combustible ways to satisfy their nicotine cravings.

As cigarette volumes continue to decline across the U.S., tobacco company Altria Group Inc. continues to move toward a noncombustible future. The Richmond, Va.-based company’s efforts come amid the industry’s overall move toward “harm reduction,” by launching products such as oral nicotine pouches, vapor products and heat-not-burn tobacco products.

"We believe the foundation for tobacco harm reduction in the U.S. is firmly set,” Altria chairman and CEO Howard Willard said at the Consumer Analyst Group of New York conference, held in Boca Raton on Feb. 19.

Willard said the company’s vision is to lead a transition to a noncombustible future over the next 10 years. For more on what Willard said visit Convenience Store News.
