Dollar Tree to Hire 35K Ahead of Holiday Season

The retailer will recruit store managers, assistant store managers, and distribution center leaders during the nationwide event, which will take place Aug. 25-26 at participating Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores as well as U.S. distribution centers..
The hiring spree comes as the retail industry is facing a tight labor market, with retailers having to raise wages and increase benefits to attract and retain talent. Earlier in August, the discount retailer held a hiring event at its distribution centers, offering a $1,000 signing bonus for qualified hourly direct labor warehouse and maintenance employees hired between June 27, 2021, and September 4, 2021.
The company partnered with DailyPay in 2020 to enable employees to access their wages between traditional paydays. In addition, Dollar Tree announced ValuED, its education assistance program that provides associates with financial support and offers a wide range of development opportunities for upward mobility within the organization. Full-time associates are eligible for tuition discounts, reimbursement allowances for college degrees and GED programs, and language programs.
“As one of the fastest growing retailers in the country, we are seeking results-driven leaders to manage our store and logistics teams as they provide the communities we serve with great value,” Betty Click, chief human resources officer, said in a statement. “Along with competitive pay and a comprehensive rewards package, our company is keenly focused on developing our associates and providing them with ample opportunities for career growth.”
