ECRM taps Bennett for key retail role


Bennett will serve in the newly created position of senior vice president of retail at ECRM, an organization best known for conducting Efficient Program Planning Sessions (EPPS), which bring buyers and sellers together during one-on-one, private meetings. ECRM has held more than 1,000 such events since 1994 and the innovative concept, now widely emulated, proved to be a popular alternative to conventional trade shows for those in the grocery, general merchandise, foodservice, health and beauty care, pharmacy and packaging industries.

“Bennett’s business media background and expertise is perfectly aligned with ECRM’s vision to extend its services and technology platforms to better support many aspects of the buying process,” said Greg Farrar, CEO of ECRM. “His knowledge of the retail industry and experience will extend our engagement with retail buyers and suppliers year-round.”

Prior to ECRM, Bennett spent 21 years with New York-based publishing company Lebhar-Friedman, where he most recently served as group publisher of Drug Store News and managing director of Health Events Live. As group publisher, Bennett was responsible for business management, overall strategy and broad-based industry relationships among retailers, suppliers and service providers within the retail pharmacy, consumer health care and packaged goods industry.
