H-E-B ready to ramp up growth
H-E-B is accelerating its growth strategy by building its largest distribution and manufacturing plant ever.
According to the San Antonio Express-News, City Council members will vote May 17 whether to waive up to $1 million of city development fees and up to $500,000 in water and sewer impact fees for the site at the southwest corner of E. Houston St. and S. Foster Road in San Antonio.
H-E-B plans to invest at least $130 million at the site over a three-year period, the newspaper says. The San Antonio retailer says the 1 million-square-foot facility will be its largest single-build warehouse and will constitute its largest investment to date in its manufacturing and supply-chain division.
The city expects to see $8 million in tax revenue and $20 million to other local taxing jurisdictions from the development over a decade.
