Last chance: Join future of food webinar

The phrase "innovate or die," perfectly sums up the situation facing America's traditional food retailers, many of whom are locked in a share of stomach battle with a host of unfamiliar competitors intent on disruption.

If there was one thing apparent in late October at the inaugural Groceryshop event it was this: traditional food retailers are in the crosshairs of everyone from tech entrepreneurs to non-food retailers and direct-to-consumer disruptors. The steady drip, drip, drip of increased competition siphoning off trips while expenses mount related to serving shoppers in new ways makes this a time like any other in the history of food retailing.

Grocery is an industry on the cusp of a new era, as Groceryshop Co-Founder and Chief Content Officer Zia Daniell Wigder explained at the kick off to the event on Sunday, Oct. 28 in last Vegas. More than 2,200 people attended the future-focused event which speaks to both the angst that exists among traditional food retailers and the opportunity sensed by others eyeing an opportunity to gain share.
