A Look Inside Hypebeast’s First U.S. Flagship

Hypebeast, a global platform and online destination for contemporary culture and lifestyle, has unveiled its first-ever U.S. flagship building in Manhattan's Chinatown in New York. Spanning seven floors, the building spans nearly 25,000 square feet and houses all facets of Hypebeast's business under one roof, including an HBX flagship store, Hypebeans cafe, event spaces as well as an office headquarters
The largest HBX flagship will open its doors in New York City on June 17. The dynamic, two-story space is meant to be fluid and ever-changing, according to a news release from the company. On the ground floor, the space can “transform” from a “neighborhood courtyard" into an event space, an exhibition or pop-up shop.
Established in 2012, HBX is a global e-commerce platform and retail destination carrying over 250 curated brands. HBX focuses on delivering the latest, trend-setting fashion, accessories, shoes, home and lifestyle goods to its customers. The HBX e-commerce platform ships to over 70 markets worldwide and has retail stores in Hong Kong and New York.
The new building will also be home to the first Hypebeans in the U.S. Hypebeans is Hypebeast's first culinary venture and is a communal destination serving quality coffee. The first store opened in Hong Kong SAR in February 2020, while the second branch debuted in Seoul in September 2021.
The second floor will showcase a global curation of over 40 brands from both established and up-and-coming menswear, womenswear and lifestyle labels.
The third floor will feature an innovation space to house cultural activations and brand pop-up shops. The rest of the building will serve as Hypebeast's headquarters in North America housing over 100 employees.
