More Consumers Learn About New Products from Social Media

With more consumers turning to social media as a source of information about new products, watch for more CPG companies to encourage digital word-of-mouth as they launch new products in 2012, USA Today said. At the same time, research from Mintel indicates the number of new products launched fell to 37,600 introductions in 2011 from 41,000 in 2010.
