Nine of 10 Shoppers Make Impulse Purchases

While the economy is still rocky, 90 percent of U.S. shoppers are finding a little extra money to buy items not on their shopping lists, according to a study from the Integer Group and M/A/R/C Research. More than 65 percent of consumers said a sale or promotion spurred their unplanned purchase, followed coupons and a desire to treat themselves.
