Parents Find Nutrition Labels a Difficult Read

When surveyed about the ease of reading nutritional labels on food products, four out of 10 parents said reading assembly instructions for furniture is easier, according to a survey conducted by Kelton Research for Clif Bar & Co.'s CLIF Kid brand. The survey also indicates 42 percent of parents do not know that nutrition labels are based on a 2,000-calorie diet meant for adults, while recommendations for a 6-year-old girl may call for up to 50 percent fewer calories.
