PepsiCo to Invest in Brands, Cut Over 8,000 Jobs
PepsiCo will remain one company, disproving rumors of a possible spinoff, and will increase advertising and marketing support for it global brands by $500 million to $600 million in 2012, focusing on North America, Bloomberg reported. The company also will reduce its global workforce by about 3 percent, or 8,700 jobs, as part of its plan to save $1.5 billion by 2014, the story said.
