PoweRanking Survey Gains New Retail Muscle


Kantar Retail announced that the Path to Purchase Institute, along with their new sister company, Stagnito Business Information + Edgell, have joined forces to conduct the annual PoweRanking survey. The unique retail research project annually surveys the nation’s leading retailers and manufacturers to identify those companies identified as best in class, as well as to provide insight as to what distinguishes these industry leaders across nine measures of the manufacturer-retailer relationship.

“Like any brand, we are always looking for ways to improve PoweRanking. As we close out our first 20 years and look to the next, we wanted to identify partners who can help us make the insights even better and to help us get those insights out in a broader way,” said Dan Raynak, executive vice president, strategy & development, Kantar Retail.

The survey launched in early June to leading retailers with results due to be published in early November. Last year, more than 600 retailers and manufacturers participated in the 2015 survey.

In support of the 20th anniversary of the study, Kantar Retail is partnering with The Path to Purchase Institute, a global association serving the needs of brand manufacturers, retailers, agencies and the entire ecosystem of solution providers along the path to purchase, and Stagnito Business Information + Edgell, publisher of the retail industry’s leading trade publications.

The Path to Purchase Institute will help promote the survey through its publication, Shopper Marketing, while Stagnito Business Information + Edgell will do the same through Progressive Grocer, Retail Leader, and Convenience Store News.
