Publix brings innovation to meal kits
Publix is looking to disrupt the meal kit industry by launching a meal kit line that is appliance-specific.
The retailer has rolled out meal kits for slow cookers to all of its stores.
The kits debuted this month and they are sold in the meat department.
According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, Three kits are part of the initial rollout: Chicken and dumplings, chuck roast and pork carnitas, which are a limited-time offering. Each kit makes a meal for four people, and includes a slow cooker liner to minimize clean up. The chicken and dumplings ($14.99) and chuck roast ($19.99) are available in several stores in Tampa.
