Raley’s names new CEO

Raley's named president Keith Knopf to the role of CEO, marketing the first time in the privately held, family-owned company's history that a non-family member has held the top job. Knopf joined the company in 2015 as COO and was elevated to the role of President a little over year ago. The CEO title was previously held by Raley's owner Michael Teel who will continue to serve as Chairman of the board.
“Keith is a strong leader who has a passion for our people and our purpose,” said Teel. “He has proven success in moving our strategic priorities forward and growing our market share.”
According to the company, Knopf has been instrumental in evolving the Raley’s brand and strengthening its position in the marketplace including the recent development of an innovative new format, known as Market 5-ONE-5.
As Retail Leader reported in an exclusive interview with Knopf earlier this year, the concept is designed to build on the Raley’s mission of infusing life with health and happiness by changing the way people eat one plate at a time.
“That purpose statement is how we are guiding the transformation of the existing Raley’s business,” Knopf told Retail Leader. “Market 5-ONE-5 is the full, bright expression of that purpose. We believe it is like nothing else out there.”
