RILA adds regulatory expertise
The Retail Industry Leaders Association has hired a director of regulatory affairs and compliance.
As part of RILA’s legal and compliance team, Autumn Moore will be responsible for leading and facilitating activities for RILA’s Consumer Product Committee, comprised of retail regulatory compliance and QA executives as well as in-house counsel. Moore will also work with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Federal Trade Commission, Department of Energy, and the Environmental Protection Agency, on topline consumer product-related issues impacting the retail industry.
“We are thrilled to welcome Autumn to our team,” said RILA senior vice president & deputy general counsel, Kathleen McGuigan. “Her background and deep knowledge of consumer product safety and compliance makes her the perfect candidate to help our members face critical issues and navigate the current regulatory climate.”
Moore comes to RILA by way of The Toy Association where she held the position of Manager of Standards and Regulatory Affairs. She worked on product safety issues, standards development, internet connected toy issues and chemical regulations.
Before joining The Toy Association, Moore worked from 2008-2012 in the Office of Commissioner Nancy Nord at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission during implementation of the groundbreaking consumer law, the “Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act” (CPSIA) of 2008. Moore also worked for the late Senator Pete V. Domenici. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Eastern New Mexico University in 2006.
