Shipt is giving retailers a lesson in how to delight shoppers, and it's more than just grocery delivery.

In a newly released Shipt ad, New York Yankees player CC Sabathia goes undercover and delivers groceries to ordering customers. On Aug. 10, Sabathia posted a video on facebook saying that he was going to surprise three lucky fans in New York. All customers had to do was like the post and place an order at Shipthttp://tiny.cc/sabathia52 for delivery on Aug. 11.

The delivery process starts out humorous, as video shows Sabathia being completely flustered with what he was supposed to do when delivering the groceries. In the video, it shows each customer being completely surprised and excited to meet the professional baseball player. About halfway through the delivery process, it continues by providing positive comments from Sabathia himself:

“The first two deliveries have been fun. I could see why people who definitely use the app, because I had to go up about four flights of stairs with like heavy bags. I could see why the app would come in handy for a lot of people for sure.”

Shipt has been expanding its grocery delivery service all across the United States since being acquired by Target in 2017.
