Southeastern Grocers to Lay Off 250
The company says that none of the layoffs will affect in-store workers. Southeastern, formerly Bi-Lo Holdings, owns about 750 supermarkets in the southeastern U.S. under banners including Bi-Lo, Winn-Dixie and Harveys. Facing tough competition from Publix and others, it has been closing stores, reducing the need for support personnel.
