Supermarket Chains Expand in South Florida

Despite the tough economy for food retailers, supermarket chains are expanding in South Florida, with many offering either premium or value-oriented products, the Sun-Sentinel reported. Whole Foods and The Fresh Market, which have both opened new stores, are catering to consumers willing to pay more for fresh, high-quality products, while Aldi, Save-A-Lot, Walmart and Target are vying for price-conscious consumers.
