Target aims to add a 'wee bit of joy' to digital shoppers' lives

Target CIO Mike McNamara says the retailer is working to make the digital experience just as delightful for shoppers as the brick-and-mortar experience. 

In a new video on Target's A Bullseye View blog, McNamara says the retailer is making further enhancements to its app. Target is rolling out beacon and Bluetooth technology that shows a user’s location (and nearby Cartwheel deals) on a store map as they move through the aisles.

McNamara describes it as GPS for the shopping cart. The experience will be live in about half of Target’s stores in time for the holiday season.
