Target innovation exec is joining Amazon
Amazon is accelerating efforts to expand its Prime program by poaching a rising star of innovation from Target.
According to a report from Recode, Amazon has hired Jamil Ghani, Target’s SVP of strategy and innovation, to run the Amazon Prime membership business in international markets. Ghani is expected to report to Greg Greeley, Amazon’s VP of Amazon Prime, and be based out of the company’s Seattle headquarters.
Ghani has been at Target since 2011, holding a variety of business development and strategy positions. Before joining the company, he served as director of global marketing strategy and planning for the Disney theme parks for four years.
