Tech Company Grabango Adds Ops VP
Grabango, a Berkeley, Calif.-based checkout-free technology service provider to brick-and-mortar grocers and convenience stores, has hired Andrew Jensen as its VP of operations. Jensen is a seasoned supply chain executive with deep experience in operations management, logistics and strategic growth.
Jensen was previously CFO and COO at Berkeley-based aerial analytics and drone platform company 3D Robotics, which he helped expand from a small number of engineers in California to a worldwide organization of more 400 employees, with hundreds of thousands of products shipped. Before 3D Robotics, his team at McMaster-Carr managed a cutting-edge supply chain fulfilling millions of orders per year, with 99.9% accuracy.
“Andy really knows how to make the world work on a grand scale,” said Grabango CEO and founder Will Glaser. “His expertise in enterprise logistics is crucial to the next phase of Grabango’s growth. We'll be leaning on his skills pretty heavily as we move from installing a few stores per quarter to a dozen stores per week.”
As VP of operations, Jensen will work with Grabango’s growing team of engineers and lead the company’s supply chain, client system installations and quality assurance programs, in addition to managing information technology and vendor relations.
“This is an important time for the retail industry, and I’m excited to join Grabango just as it's shifting from top Silicon Valley startup to global technology enterprise,” noted Jensen. “I’m proud to work with the extraordinary team that's leading the way in checkout-free shopping. I've always hated waiting in lines.”
