Tofu, fried chicken and valet parking at Publix
In a bid to make shopping even more of a pleasure, Publix is expanding valet parking to more stores.
The retailer has expanded free valet parking to one store in the Tampa Bay area at 1313 S Dale Mabry Hwy, but plans to add the service to other stores.
"The service is free as a convenience for our customers," said Brian West, Media and Community Relations Manager, Publix Super Markets. "Currently, one store has the service, and we have a few others proposed, but we’re waiting on approvals. All but one of the others are within the greater Tampa Bay area."
Publix is not the first grocery store to offer valet parking. Vons in California debuted the service in the early 1990s. Some Publix stores in South Florida have offered valet parking for years.
But the announcement may be a sign of just how far retailers are willing to go in the e-commerce age to make in-store shopping easier for consumers.
