Tyson Aims to Eliminate Antibiotics from Chicken

Tyson stopped using antibiotics at its 35 hatcheries last October, and is now targeting chickens on all its affiliated farms. CEO Donnie Smith said “we believe it’s realistic to shoot for zero [antibiotics] by the end of our 2017 fiscal year.” Tyson also will look at reducing antibiotic use in its hog, turkey and cattle operations.
