Uber is Delivering Christmas Trees Through a Holiday Hub

Uber is offering seasonal deliveries for the first time.

Through its new Holiday Hub on the Uber Eats platform, the rideshare and delivery provider will offer on-demand delivery and pickup of Christmas trees, wreaths and seasonal essentials to customers in limited markets. Trees are available in Los Angeles, San Diego and West Palm Beach, Florida, while New York customers can order wreaths for delivery. The Holiday Shop, available on the Uber Eats app, is through a partnership with Proper Companies’ holiday division, which includes Mr. Jingles Christmas Trees and Mr. Jack O' Lanterns Pumpkin Patch.

Executive Summary

The new, seasonal offering underscores the rising importance of delivery across industries. As retailers continue to ramp up online ordering capabilities, third-party delivery providers have soared in demand and taken on new service areas.

However, Uber isn’t just planning to accommodate customers for the December holidays. The new category will expand and rotate seasonally throughout 2022 and beyond to accommodate various holidays. To find holiday-related products, customers can also tap the Holiday billboard in the Uber Eats app––or search for holiday with the Santa, Mrs. Claus and Christmas Tree emoji––to find a wide range of merchants and their holiday aisles, including Rite Aid, GoPuff, Walgreens and more.

Uber Eats customers will receive $20 off orders of $60 or more from gifting merchants and specialty food stores, including participating Mr. Jingles and Bed Bath & Beyond.
