Walgreens Find Care finds growth

With use of the Walgreens mobile app surging, the health care retailer is expanding features and adding partners to its Walgreens Find Care platform.
Walgreens has expanded its Walgreens Find Care platform, launched in 2018, to include new features and telehealth service providers to connect patients and customers with more options to get convenient and affordable access to care from computers and mobile devices. The launch of additional features and providers on Walgreens Find Care coincides with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to use telehealth to help address medical needs while supporting social distancing.
“Customers can use Walgreens Find Care to help navigate their health care experience – from initial consultations to getting their prescriptions filled - without ever leaving their home.” said Richard Ashworth, Walgreens President.
With expanded features and additional national and regional partners, patients can now connect with more than 30 providers who treat more than 100 conditions through Walgreens Find Care. Additionally, these providers help expand access to telehealth services in states currently most impacted by COVID-19 activity such as New York, California, Illinois, New Jersey, Michigan and Florida.
Walgreens said use of its mobile app has increased 22% compared to the same time last year and 12% year-to-date as more patients turn to digital health services during the pandemic. The app now includes a COVID-19 risk assessment feature, powered by Microsoft Healthcare Bot which runs on Microsoft Azure, to help users assess their risk of COVID-19 based on CDC guidelines. Additionally, on Walgreens Find Care, patients can learn more about COVID-19 clinical trials by using the Find My Clinical Trial program.
“We continue to grow our partnerships with some of the most trusted local and national providers to offer telehealth solutions that can help patients better meet their acute and chronic care needs, especially during this unprecedented time of social distancing,” said Giovanni Monti, senior vice president of health care services, Walgreens Boots Alliance.
New or expanded Walgreens Find Care collaborations include; AmWell, Heal, HSHS Medical Group, McLaren Health Care, Novant Health, Providence St. Joseph Health, ExpressCare Virtual and Village Medical.
Walgreens Find Care helps patients navigate to leading health systems and telehealth providers where they can connect with a doctor or nurse practitioner to receive care for common health and wellness needs like illness and injury, cough and cold, mental health services and chronic condition management.
