Walmart promotes Asda vets to new roles
Walmart has shuffled some senior managers in its U.S. division, bringing fresh leadership to critical growth areas like e-commerce and food.
According to Bloomberg, Kieran Shanahan was promoted to senior vice president of e-commerce retail for everyday living, while Tom Ward was named senior vice president of digital operations.
Both Shanahan and Ward had helped expand the online grocery business in their previous roles.
The promotions mark the latest examples of a growing British presence in Walmart’s upper management ranks. Both began their careers at Walmart’s U.K. arm Asda.
Walmart also named Andrea Albright senior vice president of snacks, beverage and impulse, replacing Al Dominguez, who is leaving the company after 12 years.
