The aim is to allow busy adults to make shopping at the retailer even more convenient, enabling them to shop in the same way they communicated with friends and family. Store No8 is the incubation arm of Walmart.
“We’re learning a lot about when and how customers prefer a conversational experience, and we look forward to making this more widely available in the future,” Dominique Essig, vice president of conversational commerce of Store No8, said in a corporate blog post.
Walmart already has voice shopping capabilities through both Google and Apple voice assistant devices. Walmart’s conversational commerce is in collaboration with Google.
