Big Lots has new (interim) leadership
Big Lots will have new leadership due to President and CEO David Campisi taking a medical leave.
Campisi was hospitalized on Friday shortly after the company's third quarter earnings call. Campisi is now recuperating at home.
The board of directors has given Campisi’s responsibilities in the meantime to Chief Merchandising and Chief Operating Officer Lisa Bachmann and to CFO Tim Johnson.
James Chambers, the non-executive board chairman, also will spend additional time with the leadership team during Campisi’s leave.
"We have complete confidence in Lisa and TJ and the rest of the leadership team at Big Lots to continue the Company's strategic initiatives. David Campisi is an inspirational leader, and we look forward to his return to good health and to leading the Company again," said Chambers.
Big Lots operates 1,430 BIG LOTS stores in 47 states.
