Former Bain & Company partner Paul Cichocki has joined BJ’s Wholesale Club as EVP of membership, analytics and business transformation.
Cichocki spent the past 23 years with Bain & Company and prior to that was an operating manager for Frito-Lay. He also received an MBA from Harvard, but has no direct retail or warehouse club experience.
“Paul’s extensive experience in leading performance improvement and business transformation make him instrumental as we continue to transform BJ’s Wholesale Club. Integrating our membership, marketing and analytics organizations under Paul’s leadership further supports accelerating our strategic initiatives in these areas,” said BJ’s CEO Lee Delaney.
While at Bain, Cichocki did advise clients on performance improvement and business transformation across a range of industries including retail, consumer products, financial services and food and beverage.
“BJ’s has made significant progress over the last few years by making strategic investments and building new capabilities to build a foundation to accelerate growth,” Cichocki said.
He and Delaney spent considerable time together at Bain prior to Delaney joining BJ’s in 2016 to lead merchandising. More recently, he was named CEO to replace Chris Baldwin. Delaney joined Bain in 1996, one year before Cichocki.
