Could New Jersey be the Next to Ban Plastic Bags?

New Jersey lawmakers are considering a number of bills aimed at reducing plastic bag use by imposing fees or banning them outright, The Star-Ledger said. Retailers said if fees were mandated, they would likely pass on the costs to consumers. But one proposal would ban the bags by 2017. Whole Foods Market stores in Bergen County currently offer 10-cent refunds to customers using reusable bags, the story said.
