Coupon Redemption Rises Despite Reduced Distribution

Consumers realized $4.6 billion in coupon savings in 2011, a 12 percent increase from the previous year, while CPG marketers cut coupon distribution 8 percent to about 300 billion coupons, according to a new report by NCH Marketing Services. While the average value of grocery coupons declined 3 cents in 2011 from the previous year, consumers redeemed more higher-value coupons, reported FoodNavigator-USA.com
