Greek Yogurt's Popularity Spurs Investment in Manufacturing Plants
The nation's top two Greek yogurt producers, Chobani and Fage,
are investing in manufacturing plants in upstate New York to keep up with growing demand for the cultured product, USA Today reported. Chobani plans to increase production to two million cases a week from 1.5 million currently while also opening a new plant in Twins Falls, Idaho. And in Johnstown, N.Y., Fage is doubling annual yogurt production to 160,000 tons after its sales have climbed 50 percent annually for the past decade, the story said.
