H-E-B receives NACDS award

H-E-B has been recognized for its political involvement at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Total Store Expo.
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores announced that H-E-B was honored with the 2018 “Politically Engaged Pharmacy Award,” or PEP Award, for the company’s political engagement during the Political Involvement Reception at the Total Store Expo, which took place on Aug. 26.
“Under Martin’s leadership, H-E-B has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing community pharmacy legislative priorities with lawmakers. H-E-B has consistently displayed its support for NACDS-PAC and its role in our advocacy efforts,” said National Association of Chain Drug Stores Vice Chairman Chris Lane, Executive Vice President at Wakefern Food Corporation/Shoprite.
National Association of Chain Drug Stores Past Chairman Martin Otto, now H-E-B’s Chief Operating Officer, accepted the award on behalf of the company. The association said that the company received the award in recognition of its exemplary leadership and participation in the association’s Political Action Committee (NACDS-PAC). The award is presented to a company or individual who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the advancement of pharmacy through political engagement.
The company recently appointed a new Chief Product Officer as the company looks to further expand its digital presence. The company named Mike Georgoff to the role of Chief Product Officer, H-E-B Digital. The company says that Georgoff will help drive H-E-B’s continued omnichannel growth, leading the company’s digital-product strategy, design and development. He will report to H-E-B Chief Digital Officer Jag Bath.
The award was presented to the company by former White House Secretary and noted political commentator Josh Earnest at the association's expo.
