How PetSmart plans to drive traffic

​​​​​​​The largest specialty pet retailer announced that it is introducing more in-store events called Petsmart parties, along with Sample Saturdays and Camp Critters.

Petsmart is expanding in-store events in hopes of bringing in more in-store traffic.

The largest specialty pet retailer announced that it is introducing more in-store events called Petsmart parties, along with Sample Saturdays and Camp Critters.

Petsmart has been one of the few brick and mortar retailers that has been increasing its store counts instead of lowering them.

“We continue to focus on meeting the evolving needs of pets and pet parents alike,” said Brian Amkraut, Executive Vice President of Real Estate, Strategy, Store Operations and Services for PetSmart last year. “Continuing to expand our brick-and-mortar footprint is an important part of our strategy to be the most convenient, best-in-class pet retailer.”

The Sample Saturday events are supposed to begin Saturday, July 7 and are supposed to take place the first Saturday of every month from 12 to 3 p.m. This event is intended for pet owners to participate in in-store activities by learning about new food products and to try free samples.

Camp Critters is a summertime educational series designed for children to teach them about fish and small animals.
