Instacart bags another big grocery chain
Just a few weeks after teaming up with Aldi, Instacart is adding another grocery chain to its ever-growing list of partners.
The company announced that it will begin delivering from Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, a rapidly growing Midwest specialty grocer focused on healthy organic products and groceries, effective immediately.
“Customers choose Instacart because of our ability to bring the products they want from their favorite neighborhood stores straight to their doorsteps,” said Sarah Mastrorocco, Instacart’s Vice President of Business Development. “We’re proud to partner with Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, adding the convenience of same-day delivery to their mission to improve the way communities eat by offering fresh and healthy food at amazing values.”
Fresh Thyme is a fast growing food retailer based in Illinois, with a footprint of about 220 stores. Retail Leader recently profiled the chain in its March/April issue.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to bringing healthy, natural and organic products to all, we’ve launched Fresh Thyme Delivers, to give shoppers greater access to affordable groceries and products whenever and wherever it’s convenient for them,” said Chris Sherrell, President and CEO of Fresh Thyme. “The demand for delivery services has never been greater. We’re pleased to combine this new delivery option with access to Fresh Thyme’s 5,000 plus organic items, 8,000 SKUs of vitamin and body care products and many more healthy, wholesome options.”
Initially, Fresh Thyme will launch Instacart delivery from 55 stores throughout the Midwest, in metro areas including: Chicago, Bloomington (IL), Cincinnati (OH), Cleveland (OH), Columbus (OH), Dayton (OH), Toledo (OH), Detroit, East Lansing (MI), Fort Wayne (IN), Indianapolis, Evansville (IL), Louisville, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and St. Louis.
The Instacart service at Fresh Thyme allows shoppers to order through FreshThymeDelivers.com, or the Instacart smartphone app, and have groceries delivered to their front door at the time they choose – often in as little as one hour.
Recently, Fresh Thyme has added almost 600 SKUs to their private label assortment, bringing the total to over 1,500. Shoppers with food allergies and specialty diets such as paleo, gluten-free and plant-based will find ample options available for delivery amongst the 30,000 items available for delivery. First-time Instacart customers in the delivery areas can take advantage of $20 off their first order of $35 or more with promo code: DeliveryThyme, now through June 30.
Founded in San Francisco in 2012, Instacart has quickly scaled to over 220 markets and partnered with retailers across North America, including popular national chains as well as local, regional grocers.
