Meal kits get more family-friendly
Sun Basket is launching what it calls its Family Menu, including Paleo-Friendly recipe options. Co-created by two chefs, Sun Basket's Chef Justine Kelly and Food Network's Chef Tyler Florence, the Family Menu is designed to feed a family of four with recipes crafted using organic and non-GMO ingredients that will satisfy both kids and adults.
The newest menu in the company's offerings makes it easy to get a delicious, healthy meal on the table with no planning, grocery shopping, or measuring. With Paleo Friendly, Gluten Free, and Vegetarian options, the Family Menu caters to an array of dietary preferences. Families can choose to receive two or four chef-inspired recipes per week that carefully and thoughtfully merge kid-friendly flavors made with organic ingredients.
The Family Menu meal kit is the first-of-its-kind with the ability for families to choose a Paleo-friendly option, featuring recipes packed with lean meats and vegetables, free of soy, dairy and gluten. This unique offering is perfect for parents interested in following a Paleo diet, with optional non-Paleo side dishes or toppings to please the kids.
"As a full-time working parent, I understand how difficult it is to make a meal for my family after a long day," said Chef Justine Kelly, co-founder of Sun Basket and the former Head Chef at the Slanted Door, a James Beard award-winning restaurant. "The Family Menu provides you with delicious, kid friendly recipes and the best organic and non-GMO ingredients to create healthy, nutritionally sound meals that both parents and their kids will love."
According to the 2016 U.S. Families Organic Attitudes and Beliefs study by the Organic Trade Association, 84 percent of respondents said buying organic food for their kids was "extremely" or "very important." Additionally, 57 percent of parents ranked price in their top three priorities when buying food for their families. As such, Sun Basket's Family Menu meal kits are a cost-effective and convenient solution to cook with top quality, fresh, organic and non-GMO ingredients. With a price per serving of $9.99, Sun Basket provides these high-quality ingredients at an affordable price point, saving time and money spent on excess ingredients at the grocery store, and helping to eliminate food waste. Rather than resorting to expensive, unhealthy takeout or the same old weeknight dinner routine, the company helps busy families eat healthy and look forward to mealtime together.
"Even as a professional chef, cooking for the family is hard. Between my children's schedules, and mine planning meals has always been a challenge, a challenge shared by all parents. That's why I collaborated with Chef Justine Kelly to co-develop amazing recipes to cook at home that are easy, healthy, and delicious. We wanted to create recipes that would please even your toughest critics—your little ones," said Chef Tyler Florence.
