Nutritional Labels Continue to Confuse Consumers

Almost 60 percent of the 25,000 consumers who responded to an online poll by Nielsen said they have trouble understanding nutritional labels on packaged foods, Drug Store News reported. About 58 percent of American respondents said they understood the labels, followed by 49 percent of Canadians and 45 percent of Europeans. The survey indicated Asia Pacific consumers are less likely to understand the nutritional labels, with 31 percent saying they mostly understood the information, the story said.
