Publix plans delivery-focused format
Publix is building a new store in the Orlando area that will have a substantial amount of square footage dedicated to grocery delivery and pickup.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that the Florida-based grocery chain plans to develop a site at 675 Longwood Hills Road in the Longwood area into a smaller format Publix store that would have some kind of specialized pick-up area for delivery services.
The developer told the newspaper that in early conversations with Publix, the retailer said the new store would be a mix of Publix and GreenWise and "something built around delivery because the way the market is changing,” he said.
