Recognizing Excellence in Family Meals
Cathy Polley, RPh, Vice President, Health & Wellness, FMI & Executive Director, FMI Foundation
This September marked the first annual National Family Meals Month™ and the FMI Foundation celebrated in a big way. We launched a new consumer website, www.NationalFamilyMealsMonth.org, with meal planning resources and recipes to help shoppers commit to one more family meal at home each week. The website highlights participating food retailers and manufactures while curating social media content to highlight the energy and excitement around this movement.
We also celebrated by recognizing food retailers and manufacturers with outstanding programs that promote family meals. During a reception on Capitol Hill that featured recipes from supermarket chefs, we honored our Gold Plate Award winners. Here are a few photos from the event.
The FMI Foundation presents Gold Plate Awards annually to food retailers and manufacturers with outstanding programs that encourage families to share more meals, together at home, more often.
