Retail leaders making moves
Bumble Bee Seafood Company president and CEO Jan Tharp joined the board of directors of plant-based seafood company Gathered Foods. The appointment follows a recent distribution agreement that allows Gathered Foods to leverage Bumble Bee’s distribution system.
Sally Beauty Holdings named Marlo Cormier SVP of finance and chief accounting officer. She joins the operator of 5,089 stores from Fossil Group where she held the same role.
Veteran marketer Elana Gold was named chief marketing officer at Fresh Del Monte Produce, reporting to president and CEO Youssef Zakharia. She previously held marketing roles with Abbot, Novartis, PepsiCo, Sabra Foods and Yum! Brands and most recently served as chief commercial officer at childhood nutritional products maker Before Brands.
Del Monte Foods named Ashish Mallick as SVP and chief supply chain officer, reporting to president and CEO Greg Longstreet. Ashish most recently served as VP of supply chain strategies and manufacturing transformation for Pinnacle Foods. He also previously held roles at Church & Dwight Co., Clairol, and Dannon.
Fred R. Adams, Jr., the founder of egg producer Cal-Maine Foods, has died at the age of 88. He founded Adams Egg Company in 1957, the predecessor to Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., and served as chairman and CEO of the company until 2012 when he was named chairman emeritus. Under his leadership, Cal-Maine became the nation’s largest egg producer with sales last year of more than one billion dozen eggs representing 19% of domestic egg production.
Robert Volke was named CFO at Hibbett Sports, an operator of 1,100 small format sporting goods stores. Volke previously served as interim CFO at Fleet Farm and also held finance roles with Tractor Supply Company.
Greg Soussloff was named SVP of North American Sales at Revionics, a provider of retail pricing, promotions, markdowns and analytics solutions. Prior to Revionics, Soussloff was EVP of global sales at Theatro and also previously held sales leadership roles at SAS and 360pi.
The role of chief customer officer at Choice Logistics has been filled by Robb Porter who previously served as the company’s EVP of client services.
