Retailers are the No. 1 advertisers on Facebook, according to a recent analysis from MediaRadar that was reported by Chain Store Age.
Of the ads on the social media platform during January and February, retail accounted for 17%, with “other,” including beauty, travel, auto and alcohol, taking the second spot. Within the retail advertiser category, Amazon was the biggest, followed by supermarkets, quick-serve restaurants and big-box stores.
Compared to the same two months in 2020, 59% of Facebook advertisers were identical, according to the report. Retail and entertainment advertisers maintained a 64% retention rate year over year.
