Target expands fashion empire
Target is growing its millennial-focused fashion empire with a new workwear brand.
Advertised as a sophisticated, understated look, Prologue is now the latest in Target's own fashion brands. The company says that the inspiration for the designs of the clothing comes straight from the streets of London, Copenhagen or Tokyo, made with luxurious, elevated materials and made as a Target exclusive line.
Geared towards the budget-conscious young urban professional, the Prologue collection includes matte satin, sleek crepe and textured twill with prices that range from $12.99 to $49.99. Prologue will come in sizes 0-16, with many pieces up to 26W available online.
Target has introduced more than a dozen new owned brands in the past year, including several women’s fashion brands. However, the company claims that its new exclusive line differs from the rest by serving up a rich variety of aesthetics to appeal a variety of tastes.
“We always start with our guests. Their desires drive every decision we make, so getting to know them is extremely important. Early on—and throughout the entire process—we talk to thousands of guests, understanding their day-to-day lives, values, shopping behaviors, style preferences and more,” said the company. “From there, our team travels the globe, searching for inspiration and the latest trends and then translating into our designs.”
Prologue will be available in select Target stores and on Target.com beginning Sept. 14.
