There's a new competitor in the pet category
Pet-tech company Petcube has launched sales of pet supplies on its website.
The company plans to sell popular foods and treats, including Iams and Greenies from Mars Petcare, and Wellness Core and Petite Treats from Wellness.
Petcube makes pet cameras and software that connect people to their pets. Their products enable people to see, talk, play, and treat pets remotely. The company also offers an optional service called Petcube Care that offers annual or monthly plans, which come with multi-day 24/7 video cloud recording, extended video recording, and 2-year device warranty.
Subscribers to Petcube Care will get discounts on their favorite food and treats on Petcube.com.
U.S. pet owners are expected to spend $72.1 billion on pets, pet care and supplies in 2018, according to the American Pet Products Association.
"The launch of pet food and treat sales further boosts the significant value and savings that the Petcube Care program is providing members, while improving the quality of their pet's lives," said Yaroslav Azynyuk, CEO and co-founder of Petcube. "Wholesome, healthy pet food and treats were a missing part of the equation."
US residents can shop for pet food and treats on Petcube.com, and enjoy free shipping on orders of $50 or more. Petcube Care members can maximize their savings when they choose auto-deliveries.
