Whole Foods, Walmart to Occupy Existing Retail Buildings in Boston Area

Entering a new city can be eased by taking over existing buildings, a strategy Whole Foods used to open a 13,700-square-foot store in Boston on Nov. 1 in a former Hi-Lo Market. Now Walmart has its eye on a dormant 34,000-square-foot Circuit City location at Assembly Square in Sommerville, Mass., according to the Boston Herald.
